The new Campus Center at The University of Massachusetts Harbor Campus is a study in open, simple elegance. The acute angles and geometric sweeps orchestrate harmoniously with its expansive windows and off-white marble floors and walls. Vaulting ceilings and artful structure can only be adequately expressed in one word - graceful.  Staircases are a study in austerity, yet they are compelling with their wood-finished rails. Interior furnishings are a muted green - blending  with the design rather than competing with it. UMB embodies several ballrooms which are expansive, provide exclusive views, and are finished with conservative boardroom doors. The campus is set on a sprit of land in Dorchester Bay and is surrounded by water on three sides offering seaside vistas and outstanding views of Boston. The university has a sailing program and its own oceangoing research ship. UMB is necklaced by a walking/biking path that covers 3.5 miles of beach front coursing to South Boston's Castle Island. Points of interest are the Kennedy Library, Commonwealth of Massachusetts Archives, Boston College High School and docking facility for Boston Harbor Tours. UMB is easily the most beautiful urban campus in the United States.

If you have a summer afternoon or evening and want to walk or bike along the sea, UMB is one of Boston's best bets.
